Indian catering menus for Newcastle events

Choose the dishes yourself, or hand us the occasion and let us draw up a selection.

Indian curries from the Raj's Corner kitchen

Curries from gentle to fiery

Butter Chicken and the kormas keep the careful eaters happy. Beef Vindaloo and Lamb Madras look after everyone else. Take your pick of chicken, lamb, beef, goat, fish and a full vegetable range, all cooked without MSG.

Naan and roti fresh from the tandoor at Raj's Corner

Tandoor breads and rice

Naan and roti come off the tandoor to soak everything up. Alongside them sit basmati rice and five biryanis.

A platter of Indian sweets from Raj's Corner

Starters and Indian sweets

Open with samosas, pakoras and Chicken Tikka. Finish with gulab jamun, barfi or laddu, three of the thirty four Indian sweets we make.

Wherever a dish qualifies, you will see it marked GF, NF, DF or V, which takes the guesswork out of planning around allergies and diets. Let us know the requirements at the enquiry stage and the menu gets built around them. You can browse every dish on the full menu.

Cooked in Charlestown, delivered to your venue

Nothing changes about the food when we cater. It is the same curries and the same tandoor breads we serve to the people eating in at our Charlestown restaurant any other day, cooked in the quantity your guest list calls for and brought to where you are hosting.

The bits people worry about

Weddings, engagements, birthdays, anniversaries, christenings, corporate lunches. Whatever the occasion, the same four questions come up. Here is how we handle them.

"Half the table cannot handle chilli."

Heat is set per dish, not per order. A korma and a vindaloo can land on the same table, so the people who want it mild and the people who want it hot both get what they came for.

"Two of my guests are gluten free, one is vegan."

Every curry is cooked without MSG and marked GF. Vegetable and vegan curries sit on the same menu as the meat ones, and dishes carry GF, NF, DF and V marks so nobody has to ask what is in what.

"It has to be hot when it gets there."

The whole order is cooked in our Charlestown kitchen and brought to your venue. Timing is one of the things we settle with you when you enquire, so tell us when you need it there.

"I have no idea how much to order."

Most people do not, and that is fine. Send us the date and a rough head count and we will come back with a menu and a quantity that suits the room.

Gluten, nuts, dairy and vegan guests

GF means gluten free, NF means nut free, DF means dairy free and V means vegan, and those marks run right through the menu. There is a whole section of vegetable mains as well as a Vegan Combo, and a good number of other dishes are vegetarian even though they do not carry the vegan mark.

How a booking comes together

Three steps, no chasing, nothing sprung on you at the end.

  1. You send the details

The date, how many guests, where it is being held and anything anyone cannot eat.

  2. We come back with a menu

A selection off our menu that fits the occasion, priced out for you.

  3. We cook it and bring it

The whole order is made in our Charlestown kitchen and delivered to your venue.

Send us your event details

Questions we hear most

Do you deliver catering to venues around Newcastle?

We do. Your order is cooked in our Charlestown kitchen and driven to the venue, and we cater across Newcastle and the suburbs around it. Include the address in your enquiry so we can plan the run.

What goes on an Indian catering menu?

Curries running from mild to hot, naan and roti off the tandoor, basmati rice and five biryanis, entrees such as samosas, pakoras and Chicken Tikka, and Indian sweets to finish. Have a look at the full menu and mark anything you want included.

Can you cater for vegan and gluten free guests?

Yes. Dishes carry GF for gluten free, NF for nut free, DF for dairy free and V for vegan, and there is a full vegetable mains section along with a Vegan Combo. Plenty of other dishes are vegetarian without carrying the vegan mark. Tell us who you are feeding and we will work it into the selection.

How much notice do you need for event catering?

Sooner is always safer, and weekends and holidays fill up first. As soon as you have a date and a rough headcount, get in touch and we will let you know what we can do for it.

How do I get a price for my event?

Use the catering enquiry form further up this page with your occasion, date and guest numbers, or phone (02) 4943 6219. You will get a menu and a price back from us.

Got a room full of people to feed?

Give us the date and an idea of numbers, and a menu with a price will come back to you.
